Location photography is a blast, especially when the location is an exotic location like the Mayan Riviera. Our recent adventure there yielded a whole new portfolio full of amazing images which we are sharing with you here. Of special interest are the images shot at Chichen Itza, an ancient Mayan city soon to be listed as one of the wonders of the world. These images are destined to be extremely rare as the Mexican government frowns on having any photos taken at that location with professional photo equipment. Doing nudes at this location required us to be very discrete and to work very quickly in order to obtain our images without attracting attention. To this end we arrived at the site before it opened and were one of the first to gain entry. We needed to shoot very fast before the site filled with tourists which would have prevented us from doing any more photography. The results are stellar and to my knowledge are the only nudes ever shot at Chichen Itza.
The entire area of the Yucatan peninsula is dotted with many Mayan ruins, some partial cities and others small remnants of villages. We traveled to one of these small sites as well where we were able to do many more images without the risk of offending any tourists. We will no doubt return to this area to explore many of the other incredible locations to add to this collection.
We stayed at the Palladium Kantenah resort which is about an hour drive from the Cancun airport. This location is absolutely incredible and the staff was extremely accommodating in allowing us to shoot wherever and whenever we wished. The crystal clear waters of the Carribean Sea, the amazing pumice rock formations and the resort itself was perfect for many of the images in this portfolio. We loved the Renova Spa location and the staff was thrilled to help us do the shoot and even helped to move some of the furniture that was blocking the shots. We want to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the Palladium group for providing us with such an amazing experience.
