Many people dream about being a model, either as a full time career or as a part time hobby. There are few things more glamourous than walking down a runway in Milan or being on the set of a photo shoot or filming for a cosmetic commercial.
The truth is that there are very few who actually make it as a model, just as few are chosen to be rock stars, movie stars, hockey players or many of the other celebrities. We try and bring some reality into people's worlds when they come to us looking for portfolio shots. Some photographers or model agencies will encourage you to inverst in a huge portfolio when you are just starting out, painting visions of fame and fortune because you are "just what they were looking for". Many times the agenciew will insist that you use their photographer so it can be "done right" when in fact they are pocketing a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the images.
We are not affiliated with any model agencies or "model schools". If you are an established model who wants to suppliment their portfolio with some unique Editions by Frederick style images, then we applaud you and would love to hear from you.
If you are just starting out in modelling or you are a parent of someone whom you think would have a good chance at being a model, we would encourage you to take your time, do a lot of research and initially just get a modest few shots done to test the waters and see if this is the right road to take. We will try and help you in any way we can and give you the benefit of our experience with working with a variety of professional model agencies from around the world.
We won't try and sell you more than you really need (usually a bare minimum if you are just starting out), nor will we blow sunshine up your behind to try and get you to open your wallet. But we will take the very best glamour or portfolio shots you can get and even if you do not become the next supermodel, you will have a great time and walk away with some valuable memories that you cannot get anywhere else.
